Title:
PURPOSE
To assist the Business Change Managers in system analysis, new business processes, new technology and data requirements in order to improve merchandising business performance. To collaboratively analyze, evaluate, validate, recommend, and understand business problems and opportunities for changes to business process, new technology and data requirements, with other Business Change Managers, analysts, business unit representatives, software vendors, finance, IT and supply chain business experts. Analyze and document common and integrated retail, wholesale and corporate business processes and technology systems. Assist the Business Change Managers with their respective customers by providing guidance and plans to corporate management as well as to all Banners/Regions in the areas of designing and implementing processes and systems that manage and host data.
To analyze, evaluate, validate and support the planning, development, and deployment of the business processes and applied technology to all Merchandising functions, providing support to the company’s merchandising department and operating divisions. Recommend new or enhanced requirements for business processes, technology, and data sets that will enable and assist corporate merchandising staff, division and store management in maximizing sales, profits, and inventory investment using one Merchandising System. Assist in the development of supporting service level and system migration strategies in concert with corporate IT and Merchandising management staff. Document and test supporting business processes, data transmission requirements, and reports. Work collaboratively with other Merchandising Systems, IT and Retail teams’ members.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Business Change Managers is analyzing, planning, developing and deploying the company's new merchandising processes and systems.
-Elicit, analyze, recommend and document using a managed approach requirements for business processes, supporting technology, and data sets - Maintain highly collaborative working relationship with other analysts, Supply Chain, Finance, and Corporate IT counterparts.
- Assist with the development of specific and common integrated business requirements and applications
- Provide expertise, recommend and assist in the planning, development and deployment of new Merchandising System functionality for all SUPERVALU retail formats to provide support to the company’s Retail merchandising department and operating divisions.
- Assist in the migration from legacy systems to new and reengineered systems including the communication of information to and from all locations and users
- Analyze and recommend requirements and direction for the data migration efforts
- Analyze and recommend standards and strategies for data rationalization. Analyze and recommend supporting service level and system migration strategies in concert with corporate IT and Merchandising management staff
- Analyze and recommend supporting business processes, data transmissions, and reports
- Assist with the migration over time to one Merchandising System, according to the project deployment schedule
- During each pilot phase, verify a high degree of testing and confidence in Merchandising Systems before full rollout, given the system’s mission-critical nature
- Analyze and recommend work-arounds and strategies to deal with any possible business process or technology problems identified to ensure uninterrupted business flow
- Specify and validate testing requirements for software packages and business processes
- Manage library of training approach/documents used in training
- Assist all trainers in understanding the training approach and standards (IT, Banners, HR, and Corporate Trainers)
- Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned or delegated
PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Indirect: working with project specific staff assigned temporarily to develop, deploy or train new systems and processes (3-24 months)
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Four year college degree preferred
- 4-6 years of broad business experience with track record on delivering results (preferable marketing and merchandising retail)
- Strong experience in managing changes and improving business performance and efficiency
- Track record of analyzing systems, data bases, and processes
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and develop creative, innovative solutions to business challenges
- Ability to pragmatically apply process discipline in a complex environment
- Have a decided bias for conductive work that will lead to action
- Project management skills with an emphasis in business driven technology projects
